Fukushima Nuclear Accident
ISIS technical reports, analysis and satellite imagery illustrating the events and consequences of the March 11, 2011 magnitude 9 earthquake and subsequent tsunami that struck the north of Japan severely damaging the four reactor units of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear complex. In addition to the physical damage to the reactor buildings, the plant also lost all power and ability to cool the reactor cores and spent fuel ponds resulting in the worst nuclear disaster in history since Chernobyl.
