Biography of Henrik F. Rasmussen
Henrik F. Rasmussen is the Executive Director of the Institute for Science and International Security. An immigrant from Denmark to the United States, Mr. Rasmussen has spent most of his career building businesses and non-profit organizations at the intersection between science-based innovation, public policy, and international relations.
He previously served as Vice President of Health Care and Economic Progress at Stand Together, one of America’s leading philanthropic networks. Prior to joining Stand Together, Mr. Rasmussen served as President of Argonne Ventures, a consulting firm focused on investment projects in the technology, defense, and natural resources sectors. He was also Co-Founder and Managing Director of Cimbria Capital, a private equity firm focused on the water technology sector in North America and Europe.
Prior to founding Argonne Ventures and Cimbria Capital, Mr. Rasmussen spent a decade in the public affairs industry, building international teams of consultants and advising major corporate clients on a wide range of public policy issues, including health care, information technology, and energy security.
Mr. Rasmussen is a frequent participant in the public debate and has appeared in major international publications such as the Chicago Tribune, the Financial Times, Forbes, the South China Morning Post, the Washington Examiner, the Washington Times, and Die Welt. He served as a platoon commander in the Royal Danish Army before moving to the United States and holds an M.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. from Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia.
