ISIS believes that an informed public plays an important role in efforts to stop the spread of nuclear weapons. A transparent and open policy making process is central to democracy and public accountability. The information we provide about "secret" nuclear weapons programs and efforts to stop proliferation is needed not only by government officials and experts, but also be the media and the public, for nonproliferation policies to be most effective.
ISIS has over 3,000 names of individuals on its mailing list, who receive copies of ISIS's publications. This list includes not only government officials and experts, but also members of the media, the academic community and the public at large.
